Video - Former President Clinton on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace

|

You know it's really hard to tell for me to tell what "really stands out" anymore in the world of politics because everything seems like it stands out these days. This interview (recommend skipping ahead to the 4 minute mark - thanks C&L for the vid) however really does stand out. Am glad I didn't overlook it. Bet Clinton wishes he would have helped put up more a fight, much earlier, cause he sure seems to be up to his elbows with alligators now.

Bush calls Iraq war, just a comma

The deaths of 2700 Americans, maimings of 15000 more, deaths of 100,000+ Iraqis, is nothing more than a comma said President Thumbscrew. Will the Democrats have the sense to capitalize on this two trillion dollar punctuation mark?

In a CNN interview with Wolf Blitzer:

BLITZER: Let's move on and talk a little bit about Iraq. Because this is a huge, huge issue, as you know, for the American public, a lot of concern that perhaps they are on the verge of a civil war, if not already a civil war…. We see these horrible bodies showing up, tortured, mutilation. The Shia and the Sunni, the Iranians apparently having a negative role. Of course, al Qaeda in Iraq is still operating.

BUSH: Yes, you see — you see it on TV, and that's the power of an enemy that is willing to kill innocent people. But there's also an unbelievable will and resiliency by the Iraqi people…. Admittedly, it seems like a decade ago. I like to tell people when the final history is written on Iraq, it will look like JUST A COMMA because there is — my point is, there's a strong will for democracy.

This... from the man

...who has rarely had need of a comma, since he speaks only in declarative sentences (unless a speechwriter says otherwise), and probably could not even identify a subjunctive clause. [sigh]

Code words, perhaps

See here for interesting piece on what Bush may have really meant when using these "religious" code words.

Would be nice

If more than 1/3 of the country gave a damn. Funny yet not.

Flattening of Affect

Paradox,
Nothing really stands out because our sensory and analytic processes have been dulled by constant overload caused by an endless stream of outrages. The result is depression nigh on to catatonia. We see this in the Democratic party, or at least I hope that is what we see. It would be worse if the majority of the Democrats are actively supporting the neofascist agenda.

again i agree

with m (you are quite insightful)..unfortunately i think his assessment is 100% on point..renditions..NSA spying on Americans..if Dumbya decided to intern all bloggers, i wouldnt be surprised..depressed and angry but not surprised..i think i have become more dissapointed that such a small percentage of the public is not outraged...and quite frankly i think clinton should have known what would happen if he went and did an interview w/ chris wallace on foxnews...i love him to death but being a rhodes scholar and all, well he should have know better..

If we weren't stuck with the effects

...of watching people like Clinton finally figure out how unreasonable and dangerous these people are, it might be kind of funny.

DLC'ers like Clinton and such were the first ones to look the other way when folks back in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 were sounding the alarm. Imagine they all thought that they were going to 'ride the wave', but now it's cresting directly on their heads.

Like I said - if we weren't stuck in the same boat, it would be funny.

Fox Deep Sixes the Video

According to Hanlon's razor, Fox has ordered YouTube to stop distributing the video of C Wallace and Bill Clinton. Nothing like a little censorship to hide ones failings.

Wonder if it could still be distributed because it was news? Or made into satire -- which would not much work.
