Jesus hates America?! Preemptive war, perpetual warfare
Gosh, you could have at least said something with a distinguishable punchline, or posted a picture of the windsurfing or something...those comments are just a long-winded, non-funny "turd in the punchbowl"...sheesh...
I think this ad is wonderful.
It's not meant to draw a parallel between Jesus and Kerry, its meant to show the kind of Political Smear Campaign that Bush is in habit of running.... that even if Jesus HIMSELF were to try to run against Bush, that Karl Rove et.al. would run this kind of nonsense advertisement to attempt to discredit Jesus Christ.
It has nothing to do with Kerry, and is a very funny political cartoon.
The crux of this material is not to contrast Bush with Kerry, but to show the unbelievably stark contrast between Bush and the values which he claims inform every decision he makes.
In other words, this is a very effective way to show that George W. Bush is a either a hypocrite (professes to believe one thing but acts contrarily), a liar (just makes all this crap up
You might think this is a trite point to make in an age when plenty of people (politicians espeically) profess a spirituality they don't care for, but in his case, where so many crucial decisions he makes are weighed heavily in favor of a belief system that he clearly operates in almost full oposition to...this is not only an important point to make, it might be the most important point of understanding how reprehensible he truly is.
Hey, stolen from the pages of MAD magazine! I gave my co-worker my son's copy to make Xerox's from.
It's hysterical when your political oponent is so ileducated that they don't even know what hypocracy is when they read it.
Kerry supporters across the nation invoke Bush's faith as a reason to oppose his Presidency, and yet when they have nothing else to bring to the table -- they offer up religious contradictions as reasons to stand at the side of Osama against Bush.
Vote yes for Bush -- because Osama says vote no for Bush!
"Kerry supporters across the nation invoke Bush's faith as a reason to oppose his Presidency, and yet when they have nothing else to bring to the table -- they offer up religious contradictions as reasons to stand at the side of Osama against Bush. Vote yes for Bush -- because Osama says vote no for Bush!"I don't remeber the "don't vote for Bush because of his faith" campaign. I must have missed that one....I think everyone's not voting for Bush because they don't want to continue to see the preciptious plunge of; our nation, economy, morality, righteousness, justice, capitalism. Quite simply a watermelon would be a better choice for America in terms of common decency, and for rolling back the inherently untruthful, divisive, and discriminatory policies and tactics of the Bush administration...
To echo beverins, if Jesus himself were running against Bush, you can bet every single charge in this ad would be leveled at him. I don't recall him ever saying we should "bomb the little children" because evil men do their mischief, or "preemptive war is a necessity" because someone hurt us. Bush is a hypocrite, and certainly NOT living the words of Christ.
Kerry supporters across the nation invoke Bush's faith as a reason to oppose his Presidency, and yet when they have nothing else to bring to the table -- they offer up religious contradictions as reasons to stand at the side of Osama against Bush.
Yeah. Supporters of Kerry have "nothing else to bring to the table" except George Bushes faith.
Except the small sidebar concerns about unfair tax cuts, class warfare, dismantling of social safety nets, a total lack of disregard for our global diplomatic interests, an unjustified war that has made the US demonstrably LESS safe, not to mention the fact that his entire administration is made up of corporate bigwigs that have rewritten as much policy as they can to their advantage, or the fact that he seems to care as much about facts as the average third grader... the list goes on and on.
But you're right, we have no concrete reason to dislike Bush as President, so we're on Osama Bin Laden's side and we hate Bush cause he's religious.
Boy it's a good thing you came along to educate us AL-Quada trainees that we have no valid reason to be unhappy with the current President.
Vote yes for Bush -- because Osama says vote no for Bush!
1) It is idiotic to vote for either candidate based on what Osama bin Laden wants.
2) Given that the Bush administration played right into Bin Laden's hands by attacking 2 muslim countries since 9/11--thereby increasing Al-Quaeda recruitment exponentially--and Kerry is clearly talking about pursuing diplomacy more than further militarism, I'm not really sure why you think Bin Laden would want Kerry to win, especially given that Kerry seems more serious about actually putting a premium on finding Bin Laden and either killing him or putting him on trial.
3) I don't know why I'm even attempting to explain this to you or anyone who could actually make the statement "Vote yes for Bush -- because Osama says vote no for Bush!"
Hey! Don't you think OBL's looking tanned, like he's had a great vacation? All 6-6 of him, dialysis machine, supposedly on the run? I just find it amazing that Repubs actually think a video of public enemy numero uno could be anything but a reminder of just how screwed up Bush and his priorities are!"Hi! Remember me? I blew up the towers and killed almost 3000 Americans. And I'm still at large! Thanks for taking out that secular pig Hussein. Also thanks for the recruitment effort! Four more years!! I'm Osama bin Laden and I approve of this message."
Having lived in Switzerland for 7 years and following the situation from a comfortable distance, I sent my absentee ballot off to my homestate of Florida. I am trying not to set myself up for too much dissappointment though.
Whether Bush or Kerry wins the old saying will still be true - "Every country gets the government they deserve."
And after that, we need to talk about reforms. Getting rid of the electoral college would be a start.
Good idea, except that it will only happen if it serves those in power. We need to have proportional split of electoral college votes, along with genuine voting numbers with paper trail as prelude to getting rid of EC altogether. And I know several people who are already making plans to relocate to France, England, Switzerland, Canada, and Mexico. You're going to do better in Europe economically than here given the future under Bush deficit spending policy, which will be economic disaster not that many years down the road.
I think there can be no doubt as to wich candidate Osama preferred since he clearly contributed to dubya's campaign with the convenient video threat.
F*** u ,u c*** sucking b****, who are you to talk like that, ur nothing but a low life who will end up suiciding urself, because u will not find the meaning to life
It sounds like you've definitely found the "meaning of life" yourself, George. If you're going to disagree with others on this site I ask that you please at least expound on your reasons why, rather than just resorting to profane ad hominem attacks.
TrackBack from my so-called blog:
This is the most right on spoof of W that I've seen. Not only is it funny, but it also illustrates the contempt George W. Bush actually holds for the most fundamental (as opposed to fundamentalist) Christian values. I can't believe I'm on vacation and ...

Wow, this post might be really funny if:
1) Anyone on the face of the planet could ever draw a parallel between John Kerry and Jesus.
2) There was a notable difference in how negative the Bush campaign has been versus how negative the Kerry campaign has been.
3) The sheer hilarity of the Kerry windsurfing commercial was not still fresh in my mind.
