It's your microphone - carpe diem!

Rest assured that if you've been looking for a sturdy and able soapbox, you've found one. The writers and the content here - now and in the past - have had a truly world-wide impact, vis-á-vis the tens of thousands of people who have happened upon Future of the Whirled.

To this end, we welcome you to post here and be part of a community that strives to be a positive influence for good in the world (while having some fun and camaraderie along the way). What you post is entirely up to you! (within reasoned limits, naturally)

In addition to having your diary post accessible through the "User Diaries" block (on the right side of the page), users' posts are also sometimes promoted to the front page by a) getting voted on by other users OR b) by the editors (all two of us) giving it a bump up (for relevant, insightful, witty, or just plain funny stuff).

Are we a Rich country

This is serious. Not a one of the taxes listed below existed 100 years ago and our nation was the most prosperous, even richest, nation in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, we had the largest middle class in the world, and Moms even stayed home to raise the kids as dad's check covered all the needs. What has happened you ask. You ask where your money's going because you make more now than you did 5, 10, 20 or 25 years ago and yet you seem poorer. Take a look at this whole list and then you decide whether or not we're still a prosperous country.

Sigh.

This wasn't supposed to end up on the user diaries list. I edited the page, and apparently the way the diaries list works right now...aw, never mind. Add another to-do on the list.

Hey Caleb

You do this blog live, without any significant testbed. You don't have the luxury of having a test system, user liaisons with written and automated test protocols, and identified individuals who have a sadists delight in trying to break your system, all working out wrinkles before the system goes live.

As far as I can see, you do a great job.

Thanks, m.

I'm taking it stride and having fun, too (mostly!). And maybe at some point relatively soon, maybe I will have a test server. I've been looking at setting up a site mirror in the past week or so...
