Iraqi PM condemns US raid on Shia stronghold

As Bush holds a news conference to purport that he has another plan for winning in Iraq, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki, criticizes the US for its raid on a Shi'a stronghold. He said that he was not consulted before the raid and bristles at being left out of the loop. He also had this to say:

The Americans have the right to review their policies but we do not believe in a timetable and no one will impose one on us.

The PM seemed to want to make clear that he is not a pawn of the White House even as Bush touts a rosy picture of Iraq from the Rose Garden.
