Bitter Irony
Dean was terrific. But these responses are really so obvious. I suspect that the Democrats have half chewed off their tongues not cutting the bumbling biased Blitzers to ribbons all along. But why do Democrats find telling the simple truth, in their own defense (and the nation's) so impossible.
What may emerge as a top Irony of '06 is this weeks Republican talking point of holding an ethics seminar in the Congress, lead by the sleazy Rep Robert Ney (R). As one wag put it, "This proves that those who can't, teach."

I mean you go to Dailykos and the like and it's just, 'Well, it's all the media and the GOP's fault. Our poor democratic leaders don't actually have mouths of their own to defend themselves with.'

It's a good sign that the Dem leadership is finally not letting so many distortions slip through the cracks. You could tell Dean was just waiting for this. He expected it. I guess he's had his hand burnt by that oven enough times before...
