Hastert seeks counsel with evangelist reputed to have faked leper colony

|

In a move emblematic of the Republican Party, where truths are lies, up is down, and honesty is unknown, Speaker Hastert has sought spiritual and possibly strategic counsel with evangelist K.A. Paul. According to the Houston Press, Paul has a rather bizarre history of behavior including:
"
- claiming another minister's leper colony as his own, and videotaping said lepers for a promotional video

- transporting children in an airplane one former crew member called a "flying death trap"

- leaving a trail of unpaid bills for the plane's fuel and maintenance

- interfering with a murder investigation in India, earning the wrath of that country's National Council of Churches

- fleeing to the United States from India after nine of his American volunteers were arrested and thrown in prison

- abandoning an 11-year-old girl after checking her into a hospital "

Hastert it seems, is in need of more lessons on how to make guilt appear to be innocence.

Hastert now claims he was duped

He allowed this man to come into his home, pray for 40 minutes with him, even to perform a "laying on of hands" upon Hastert. Now, that the story of the evangelists reputation has broken in the news, Hastert claims that he was duped.

Hastert is either lying, or admitting that he is too stupid to be a dog catcher, nevermind House Speaker. Or, if Hastert expects the voters to believe his unending stream of lies, both.

This whole thing seems almost

too good to be true. I thought the republican rules on these type of scandals was - fall on your own sword before it spins out control, take on for the team, and retire to the wingnut public speaking circuit. Where's the trademark discipline?

All the polls and stuff showing 'large dem' gains are just annoying the hell out me too. As far as that goes - I'm a Missourian. Show me.

I'm not believing anything until Nov. 3rd.

Don't believe anything until

November 7th (This years election day) or later. ;^) Diebold has yet to be included in the polls.

Don't you know it.

And November 7th seems like a very, very long time from now.

Not for someone

who hits the big 60 on that date.

Best news I've heard in a while, m.

Not necessarily that you're hitting the big 60, but that such an important day is your birthday.

Will take the good omens where I can get them at this point.

Come to think of it, believe it or not, I think that may be my Grandmother's 90th birthday, too...

Hastert should have left the

Hastert should have left the "laying on of
hands" up to Foley, as rumor has it that was
Foley's true calling.
