Holy cow! Even if you have never heard one of Eminems songs before, even if you hate Eminem, even if you LOATHE Eminem - watch this video. No matter what anyone else thinks of the guy, he forever goes down as some kind of true patriot and hero for me, on the basis of this alone (which MTV is balking at playing - big surprise).
The dark/revolutionary/militant aspect of it, I hope is not (but believe could be) a foreshadowing of things to come...
You know it anyway, folks - whatever happens November 2nd is not likely going to be the end of things (the election itself, nor the authoritarian movement that is trying to crush the soul of this country). Not being totally "up" on Madonna's latest stuff, I googled it to see if Greg's comment was actual praise or a put-down. Apparently, it is a compliment to Eminem:
"The song "American Life" is aggro and very lyrically simple, but may in fact represent one of the more daring statements by a performer since John Lennon's "Imagine," in its matter-of-fact denial of religion and its dogma"

An amazing video on my perspective. This is a nice installement for someone making a comeback. I have heard of Eminem in months. This is a fitting statement that when Eminem starts singing, a noise will definitely be made.
Been struggling to post about this very video. I don't care much for Mathers, but damn! This is a contemporary Guernica! I'm wearing my black hoodie sweatshirt to the Bush protest rally tomorrow, that for damned certain!
