Confederacy of Dunces
Bush and the Stepford Repuglicans
Buzzflash does another takedown of the Bush administration. While not complete, There was only one overt error. Buzzflash labeled Bush as a borderline sadist, when he would be more properly identified as a vicarious sadist.
If democracy survives in the United States, years from now historians will try to fathom how a small cadre of such arrogant, bumbling fools – with no combat experience – managed to nearly drive this nation into the ground.
It is hard to imagine how we have arrived at a point where a triad of self-appointed "masters of the universe" could so ruinously mislead a nation and put the entire world order at risk.
At this point in time – except for the Stepford Kool-Aid drinkers – almost everyone realizes that Iraq is a deteriorating disaster. It was a mistaken misadventure that has costs thousands upon thousands of lives and hundreds of billions of dollars.
Somewhere on earth or in heaven
there's a kindergarten teacher who is horrified to think that she taught Mr. Bush anything that he currently does.
Great picture.

Posted on Truthdig.com, it received over 1800 comments. And though the majority of comments were supportive, some were downright despicable. It is the despicable element that continues to support this administration and that Bush's amoral policies appeal to.

Very powerful essay. Kevin really lays out just how perverse the BushCo process is. One can understand such a political process gaining a controlling credence in societies racked by abject poverty and a lack of education. But, seeing this happen in our nation is enough to make me despair of any higher hopes for our species.
I find it impossible to fathom the minds of those who besmirch the Tillman's, or their quest for truth in this matter.
Bush's support comes from the despicable, the deranged, the depraved and the dunces who believe what they are told by the media. The terms black shirts and brown shirts are taken, shrublets somehow seems appropriate. The appellation's disadvantage is that it clearly diminishes the overt danger that such wretches represent, but it does provide an appropriate description of what should be their standing in any community.
