Video - Woodward on 60 Minutes with Mike Wallace

|

Video - Ed Murrow has nothing on Olbermann. Still crickets chirp.

|

(haven't had time to do anything else on the site today, but I didn't want to let this go by)

Speaking truth to power, on a network channel, in ways that nobody has dared to do in my lifetime - and it doesn't even draw a glance? (except from lost-children-of-the-internets, of course)

Couldn't have seen that one coming. At least not to this extent.

These neocons apparently have so little honor that it's not even worth defending. It's like trying to attack an oil slick.

Video - Olbermann addresses Rumfeld and for just a moment...

...the world remembers what it is to hope again.

Hot damn! (quicktime - via Crooks and Liars)

I could be wrong, but perhaps this was such a direct and thorough attack on the reputation and integrity of the Secretary of Defense, by a "credible media source", that it might not be able to be ignored as completely, as say, the Colbert incident was.

We shall see.

Bruce Springsteen on CNN w/ Soledad O'Brien

Wow. This video needs to be commemorated or something.

Am officially a Bruce Springsteen fan now. For life. Rock on Bruce.

Land of Confusion Lyrics and Video

From long ago, one of the strongest musical statements ever made. The Spitting Image puppet masters created brilliant caricatures of everyone from Ronald Reagan to Michael Jackson to Margaret Thatcher to use in this song, resulting in a masterpiece. It excoriated the Reagan administration, which gave us the bad seeds of Cheney, Rummy, and the rest. The whole song and video is below the fold. From Genesis:

I must have dreamed a thousand dreams, Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet, They're moving into the street
Now, did you read the news today? They say the danger has gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight They're burning into the night
There's too many men, too many people Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go around Can't you see this is a land of confusion?

Video - Al Gore on Saturday Night Live

Presidential aspirations much, Al? Hmmm. Am not sure what's more noteworthy - 1) that Al Gore is one of the more intriguing presidential candidates out there right now - or 2) that Al Gore is one of the more intriguing presidential candidates out there right now. Think about that.<!--break-->

Video - Colbert Roasting Bush at the E&P Press Dinner

|
As you can see, the video (full, high-resolution) helps us remember why Colbert is funny and Bush is not: "On claims that the shake-up at the White House was merely re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic: "This Administration is not sinking. This Administration is soaring. If anything they are rearranging the deck chairs on the Hindenburg."

Bush Skewered, face to face, at WH Press Dinner

|

The acidic tongue of Stephen Colbert lashed Bush at the White House Correspondents Dinner. For a full fifteen minutes, Bush was filleted, toasted and roasted by Colbert. Probably the first time in years that Bush has faced reality, though undoubtedly the marinade did not penetrate very well.

Colbert was the last, and it certainly seems the best speaker for the evening. The reportedly very unhappy presidential couple left the dinner without a smile on their faces. It will be a wonder if Colbert hasn't been disappeared by now.

Russ Feingold on Jon Stewart

|

Catch it while you can (quicktime video)! The rerun is tonight (Fri) whenever your local cable runs Comedy Central. The man is inteligent, thoughtful, spontaneous, and actually has a sense of humor. For a Senator, that's not bad. (And he did it in the middle of the night, which gives him at least three brownie points gold stars, with an extra one for mentioning his daughter.) This guy is a mench. We should only hope we could have him as a prez. He certainly looks better, and sounds more sane, than Prez Doofus.

Howard Dean shuts out Wolf Blitzer - Video

Looks like at least ONE Democrat has backbone enough to take-on the MSM. Please click 'read more' to see the video or click here for a transcript.

LMAO at Blitzers heavy sigh at the end of the segment!

(Update: Was planning on posting something about this myself, but hella beat me to it. I've posted the video here so I can include it in some 'video pages' that I've been planning to make. - Caleb)<!--break-->

Eminem video - "Mosh"

Another update; Since we have a new election happening. Here is the remarkable, Updated, post-election, ending.

Holy cow! Even if you have never heard one of Eminems songs before, even if you hate Eminem, even if you LOATHE Eminem - watch this video. No matter what anyone else thinks of the guy, he forever goes down as some kind of true patriot and hero for me, on the basis of this alone (which MTV is balking at playing - big surprise).<!--break-->

Keith Olberman's Remarkable Video

|

Found this video link over at Buzzflash. Looks like the White House Press Corps has finally been released from the GOP mind meld. The video is a bit long, but is worth watching all the way through. Scott McClellen doesn't appear to believe his own words as he tries to fend off questions about how he can say that we do not torture. even as Cheney lobbies for an exemption for the CIA.(Click the title for more.)
